Paewai Mullins Shearing

Or PM Shearing for short have been operating in the wool harvesting and farm labour industry for the past four generations.

Initiated in the mid 1930’s by All Black Lui Paewai as a means for whanau or family members to achieve employment and work on the land. He then joined forces with his nephews Punga, Ringa, Hepa and Manahi Paewai to form Paewai Partnership. Punga’s daughter and her late husband, Mavis and Koro Mullins, purchased the run in the late 1990s and today the shearing business is owned and operated by their daughter Aria Mullins.

Many of the values instilled back with Lui Paewai still mean a lot today and have been carried forward:

• Whanaungatanga family values, where we show respect, honesty and kindness
• Manaakitanga where people are welcomed, respected and hospitality is a work of art
• Matauranga celebrating and understanding that learning is everywhere, everyday – not just in schools
• Rangatiratanga this is about self determination, we are the masters of our own destiny.

Our coverage is from central Hawkes Bay to Wairarapa, into the Manawatu, Taihape area – having said that we will go anywhere!
